SSC Stenographer 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board or university.

SSC will release SSC Stenographer notification 2020-21 soon. The notification will be available in PDF format on the official website. The notification will contain details such as important dates, number of vacancies, how to apply, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, etc. Candidates are advised to read the notification before applying. 

 

SSC Stenographer 2020-21 recruitment

SSC Stenographer 2020-21 recruitment is conducted to select Stenographer Grade C and D. The Stenographer Grade C post falls under Group B Non-Gazetted category. The Stenographer Grade D posts comes under Group C category. Only candidates who have desired skills in Stenography can apply for the exam.

The CBE of SSC Stenographer 2019-20 which was scheduled to be held from September 10 to 12 has been postponed again. The new exam dates have been announced.

 

Selection Process of SSC Stenographer

The complete selection process of SSC Stenographer is explained below:

Release of application form: SSC Stenographer application form is released online. The application fee is Rs 100, Women and Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from fee payment.

Issue of admit card: SSC Stenographer admit card is released online on the respective regional websites of the commission. Candidates can access their admit cards by logging with registration ID/roll number/candidate’s name and password. 

Computer Based Test: This is the first stage of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. The computer-based test is conducted for all candidates who successfully register for the exam. The exam comprises three sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 200.

Declaration of result: SSC Stenographer result will be declared online for different stages of exams. The result will be available in PDF format. It will display the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Along with the result, SSC Stenographer cut off marks for various posts and categories are also released. 

Skill Test in Stenography: This stage is conducted for the shortlisted candidates of the Computer Based Test. Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi. Candidates need to type the dictation at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for the post of Grade D.

SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2020-21

SSC Stenographer 2020-21 vacancies will be released along with the notification. However, SSC has not notified regarding SSC Stenographer 2019-20 vacancies. In 2018, total number of vacancies announced for SSC Stenographer Grade C & D exam is 1464, out of which 473 are for Stenographer Grade C and 991 for Stenographer Grade D.
