RRB NTPC Dates 2020

RRB NTPC exam dates 2020 is yet to be decided by RRBs. The Railways will announce the exam dates once the exam conducting agency is finalized. Candidates should keep an eye on this page for regular RRB NTPC exam updates. The table below highlights the dates related to the recruitment exam.

The eligibility criteria of RRB NTPC is given below in terms of age and educational qualification.

For 7th CPC Level 2 and 3 undergraduate level posts, candidates should be between 18 to 30 years as on July 1, 2019.

RRB NTPC exam pattern 2020

RRB NTPC exam pattern 2019-20 is divided into First Stage CBT, Second stage CBT, CBAT and Typing Skill Test.

RRB NTPC syllabus 2020

Standard of questions prescribed in RRB NTPC 2019-20 syllabus is of Class 10, 12 and graduation levels. Mathematics section comprises questions from Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, etc. General Intelligence and Reasoning section will have questions from Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Data Sufficiency, etc. General Awareness questions will be from the current events happening in and around the world.

RRB ALP Selection Process

RRB ALP & Technician exam is conducted in four sages, First Stage CBT, Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and Document Verification. Find the important facts about the stages below:

RRB ALP First Stage CBT

  • This computer-based test is the first stage of RRB ALP & Technician exam, this test is qualifying in nature
  • The paper contains 75 objective type questions (MCQs) and total time given to complete the paper is 60 minutes
  • Each question carries 1 mark, hence, total mark of the paper is 75
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answers, ⅓ mark will be deducted for one wrong answer

RRB ALP Second Stage CBT

  • Those who secure cut off marks in first stage CBT, get a call for second stage CBT
  • This is the second stage of the exam, which has two parts – part A and Part B
  • Part A will have 100 questions and total time is 90 minutes
  • Part B will have 75 questions and the duration of the paper is 60 minutes
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answers, ⅓ mark will be deducted for one wrong answer


  • This stage is only for those candidates who have applied for assistant loco pilot posts
  • Question papers are made available in both English and Hindi
  • There are five test batters, candidates need to score certain marks in each test battery to qualify the exam

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2020

According to the RRB Group D exam pattern 2019-20, the CBT consists of sections such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. The railways reserve the right to conduct CBT in single-stage or multi-stage. Candidates qualifying the CBT will have to undergo PET, document verification and medical examination. For each correct answer in CBT, candidates will score 1 mark. There is always negative marking for wrong answers.

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria 2020

The eligibility criteria of RRB Group D as per nationality, educational qualification, and age limit are given below. Only those candidates will be selected for the recruitment process who fulfills the eligibility criteria. At the time of document verification, the examination authority will verify the certificates given in support of the eligibility. In case there are any anomalies in terms of eligibility, candidates will be rejected from the recruitment process.
