What is MH CET Law exam?

MHCET Law or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law is a national level exam conducted by Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra for admissions to law courses offered at the law colleges of the state. Through the entrance exam, law aspirants are shortlisted for admissions to more than 10000 seats of Five-year LLB courses offered at 120 law colleges.


MH CET Law 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions to five-year integrated LLB courses through MH CET Law need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as under:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens. 
  • They should have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination/ Intermediate Examination/ 12thBoard Examination from any recognised educational institution under the state board or national board of education. 
  • Moreover, they must have secured 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam.
  • If belonging to SC/ ST category of Maharashtra state, then the minimum marks required are 40% as per relaxation in aggregate marks.
  • As per the age limit criteria, candidates should be at least 20 years old at the time of admission. However, in case of candidates belonging to OBC, SC, ST categories of Maharashtra state, the age limit is 22 years minimum at the time of admission

MH CET Cell has rescheduled the entrance exams for the five-year LLB course due to Coronavirus pandemic. A new schedule for conducting the MHCET Law 2020 will be available soon.

MHCET Law 2020 Syllabus for English 

Candidates should prepare the following topics to score well in the English section of MHCET Law 2020 question paper:

  • Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies etc)
  • Proficiency (Idioms and phrases, one-word substitutions, sentence improvement  and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc)
  • English comprehension with a minimum of two passages followed by 5-10 questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.
  • English usage errors (common errors, spotting errors, inappropriate usages of words, spelling mistakes etc.)

MHCET Law 2020 Syllabus Legal Aptitude and Reasoning 

The questions in the legal aptitude and legal aptitude section will be around the following topics: 

  • The study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability
  • Legal prepositions and a set of facts to which the said propositions have to be applied
  • Some prepositions may not be true in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the truth of these prepositions and answer the question.

MHCET Law 2020 Syllabus for Logical Reasoning
